Japanese supermarket - フジスーパー

It is very hot in Thailand.
It is New Years Eve today.
I don’t feel that today is New Years Eve at all…..because when I lived in Japan ,I could feel that New Year was coming after Christmas because everything was about New Years …..TV programs….shops…music…decorations….
It doesn’t seem it’s a big day here.

We went to Japanese supermarket by bicycle today.
There were many expensive cars at the parking area....I realised that rich Japanese people come here...
We parked our bicycles next to them and went inside.

I usually refuse to go to Japanese area and eat Japanese food when I am in foreign country.
I thought that it was pointless.
But not now.
It was bright inside ,clean and neat,…I could see so many things I have seen!
Japanese food…Japanese seasoning…snacks…and vegetables!

It was funny and shame to feel that everything here is fresh because it was Japanese supermarket….

Of course everything was more expensive than Thai supermarket...
We just bought enough food for tonight there.

I had mixed feeling.

タイは暑い・・。今日は大みそか・・・。実感なし。
だって寒くないし、TVつけても年末番組はやってないし、街に出てもお正月の雰囲気ゼロですから。

私が住んでいる最寄り駅がトンロー(Thong Lo)のお隣の駅には、とっても沢山の日本人が住んでいるんだよと彼から聞き、旅行者のようにガイドブックを読んでみると「フジスーパー」という日本人向け？のスーパーの場所を地図で発見。

彼と二人で自転車でそこまで行くと、駐車場には高級車がいっぱい停まってました。
タイにいる日本人って噂通りお金持ちなのねーと思いつつ、高級車の横にそっと私達の自転車を停めてスーパー探索。ここだけやっぱり何だかお正月なデコレーション。

昨日行ってみたタイのスーパーは、経費削減尚なのか電気がとっても暗くて、一体どうやって使えばいいのかわからない野菜がならんでいたけれど、フジスーパーには、見覚えのある調味料やら食材が並んでいて、なぜか勝手にすべてが新鮮だと信用できる感じがするのは私だけ？

でもやっぱり割高なんですよねー。
結局、うどんとお餅を買って帰り、年越しうどんを食べました。

From England to Thailand

We came back from my boyfriend’s home, England!

It was the first time to stay in England for me and also I could have real Christmas party with his family.

I don’t know how I can explain.

Everything I saw,　ate and heard and people I met was just so lovely!
It was very cold there but we often went for walk at some parks.
It was very nice to get fresh air all the time, it made me feel refreshed.
One day I fed many ducks with some old bread, they were really cute!
The same night I ordered and ate grilled duck…..

Anyway I have so many lovely memories I want to write but this blog is about Living Thailand.

So I will enjoy them in my mind and get some sleep…

楽しすぎたイギリスから帰ってきました。

私はイギリスに足を踏み入れたのは今回が初めて。

彼の家族と過ごしたような本物のChristmasを味わうのも初めて。

天気が悪いとか、食事が美味しくないとか、いろんな噂から心の準備をしてでかけたイギリスでしたが、街並みもすれ違う人達もどの食事も水の味も、全て気に入りました。
お天気悪かったかな~？寒かったけどたくさん散歩して美味しい空気をしこたま吸って、かなり元気になりました。

昼間に公園でカモ達にパンのえさをあげてたわむれて遊んでいた私。
私って自然になじんでる～と自己陶酔していたその日の夜にみんなで行ったレストランで
気付けばカモのグリルを注文して美味しくいただいていた私・・。

とにかく楽しかったイギリス9日間だったのでした。

書きたいことは山ほどありますが、このブログは「私がThailandに住めるのか」という大切なテーマがあるので、イギリスの想い出には心の中で浸っておきます。

今日は、時差から復活するために今日はひたすら眠ります。

Living in Thailand - 突然のタイランド

I had heard that many Japanese people live in Thailand.
I didn’t expect that I suddenly would be one of them
but my boyfriend was transferred.

Was it good news or bad news?
Only I could say was that it would challenge me.
Did I decide to move to Thailand so easily?
Of course not!
Did my boyfriend force me to move to Thailand?
Of course not! He just asked me if I could live in Thailand. ]

I made my decision to come.

タイには沢山の日本人が住んでらっしゃるそうです。
まさか自分がその1員になるとは予想もしておらず、イギリス人の彼の転勤で、突然タイへやってきました。

そんな簡単に・・決めたわけではないです。
そりゃ悩みました。
私がいったいタイで何ができるんだろうって悩みました。

奥さんでもないわけだから、いくら「一緒に行ってみないか」と言われても、自分次第なわけですから。

結局、「どんなイヤな事が起こっても彼のせいにはしないと覚悟できるか」と何度も自分に問いかけた末、
Thailandへやってきたわけです。

もう何が起こっても彼のせいには・・しないのです。

彼はすでに5ケ月前からThailandとJapanの往復を繰り返しながらお仕事を始めているわけで、私より
彼のほうが断然忙しくて大変そうなのであります。

日本出発の前日までお仕事をして旅立ってきました。

実際には、明日から彼の実家のロンドンでChristmasを過ごすので、Thailandとは早速しばしのお別れです。
ロンドンから戻ってきたら、本格的にThailandな毎日が始まるのです。
